IMG_0903Volunteers continue to play an integral role in local recovery efforts.  On April 1, SALT and partner agency Schoharie Recovery, Inc. welcomed back greenshirts volunteers from World Renew Disaster Response Services.  In addition, skilled volunteers from Brethren Disaster Ministries and United Methodist Committee on Relief  continue work throughout the Schoharie Creek Basin and surrounding areas.  Members of the Palantine Bridge Amish community have also been volunteering in the area since late winter.  A team of nine AmeriCorps NCCC volunteers have also been working at flood-impacted properties for the past four weeks.

Check back again soon for an in-depth feature on these efforts.
