Last week SALT Executive Director Sarah Goodrich and SALT VISTA Em Potter appeared appeared live on WNYT News Channel 13 News at Noon to spread the word about SALT’s annual preparedness drive Kits for Kids. Check it out below!

Kits for Kids will provide over 200 students from Gilboa-Conesville Elementary School a free emergency preparedness kit, designed to keep them calm in the event of an emergency.

SALT’s AmeriCorps VISTAs will hold an emergency preparedness training seminar for elementary students at Gilboa-Conesville CSD on the same date.  The training will teach children basic facts about common emergencies and how to use their preparedness kits.

SALT’S Executive Director, Sarah Goodrich, had this to say: “Protecting children in the event of a disaster is incredibly important.  Kits for Kids will help SALT both educate and protect young lives in the county.”

Kits for Kids is part of SALT’s Schoharie County-wide preparedness program.  It builds off of last year’s successful Hope for the Homebound, which saw 200 disaster preparedness kits distributed to homebound adults in Schoharie County.
