2015 is definitely off to a crazy start here at SALT. We are currently in the midst of a bittersweet transition after losing three of our VISTA members last week. However, we are excited to welcome three new AmeriCorps VISTAs to the SALT team this week.

Eric Malone is joining us as our Schoharie Area Wild Coordinator. A recent graduate of the Fish & Wildlife Program at SUNY Cobleskill, Eric will be focusing on the Trail Feasibility Project and helping to coordinate volunteers.

Alyssa Johnson is another SUNY Cobleskill grad who is our new Grant Writing & Fund Development VISTA. She has a degree in wildlife management and will be working on the Trail Project as well as some other community development projects.

Nick Buonanno is coming on as our new Marketing & Media Coordinator. A St. Rose grad who majored in communication, Nick is an Albany native. We are excited to have him on board to continue expanding SALT’s social media presence and share SALT’s mission going forward.

We are thrilled to have Eric, Alyssa, and Nick on board and can’t wait to see all they bring to the SALT team!

I am interested in the trail feasbility study. I have been hoping for at trail like this in our county.

There is also a old rail road that used to go from Cobleskill to Cherry Valley. Part of it is used as a snowmaoblie trail . I believe that this would make a great rail trail. I don’t know if this is something that this organization is open to exploring. I would like to offer my help .
