SALT Spotlight: Schoharie Promotional Society & the Lily Park

The Schoharie Village Camping Ground, located between the Old Stone Fort cemetery and Fox Creek, has been neglected and abandoned for quite some time.  The Promotional Society received permission from the Village of Schoharie to turn this area into a lily garden, and the work hasn’t stopped since!

Volunteers have since planted hundreds of lilies, created walking paths, fishing holes, and built a gorgeous contemplation garden. Since lilies are easy to grow, Schoharie Promotional envisions that many will transplant varieties of their own.  Contributors can plant a given area for which they will receive plaques, inscribed with the donor names and types of lilies. This project is a community effort and one that we can share for years to come.

SALT would like to recognize The Schoharie Promotional Society for their tireless community development efforts!
