Volunteer Reception Ceremony

April 1, 2014

April is Volunteer Month, and SALT kicked it off with a party!  We celebrated all of the wonderful people who help out SALT in so many ways.

This year’s theme was polka-dots.

I'm wearing a skirt with polka-dots. See? THEME!

Some special volunteers were given the spotlight and a special gift.  These volunteers had been with SALT since it started as a card table in the Schoharie Reformed Church parking lot.  Some come out once every week.  Some work in construction.  One is a chef so he helps out with dinner fundraisers and on committees.  Another uses her skills as a graphic designer so SALT can colorfully announce our fun community events.  Eight special people are AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers, donating their year of service to SALT.

And we had a Greek feast!

Dig in.

A SALT Volunteer made this lunch happen.

There are many ways to Volunteer @ SALT!  Check out our page for opportunities: to see how you can help and to register, email, or call at (518) 702-5017.

The special gifts for our volunteers came from these great local sponsors:

J Lacy Salon

Gobbler’s Knob

Country Cafe

Stewarts Shop

Village Hardware

Mrs. K’s Kitchen

Home Depot

Neal Kline Insurance Agency

Cobleskill NY Bowling at the Best Western Plus Inn
