8214 sign“Miracle on Main Street,” from 5:30pm to 8:30pm this Friday, Dec 12, has been a tradition in the village of Middleburgh for more than 10 years. It is a street festival that encourages people to come out and enjoy the activities of the season — roasted chestnuts, horse-drawn wagon rides, Sparky & the Grinch from the fire dept, caroling at the library, and stores open later hours for shopping, all sponsored by the Middleburgh Renaissance Council.

Part of the miracle this year is the opening of new businesses. The Olde Corner Store from Gallupville, has been in the process of coming here for more than 2 years. The owner, Joy Heckman, offers deli products, a variety of grocery products, spices, teas, organic and bulk items. With a soft opening recently, the official ribbon cutting will be held just prior to the Miracle on Main Street events.

Another business that is part if the miracle of businesses on Main Street is the much anticipated opening of the Green Wolf Brewing Co., owned by Justin Behan. Also putting in more than 2 years to find a location in Middleburgh and have that process come to fruition, this local micro-brewery makes its products on-site, offering six different varieties for its Grand Opening at its ribbon cutting ceremony  on Dec 12th.  In addition to its alcoholic brews, Green Wolf will offer Dr. Best’s Ginger Beer, with 50 cents going to the Dr. Best House.
