SALT is recruiting a Marketing Intern!

Schoharie Area Long Term (SALT) Development is currently recruiting for a Marketing Intern. SALT Development is a not for profit corporation founded in December 2011 as a partnership of public and private sector agencies to provide recovery, rebuilding and resource support to those affected by Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee in August 2011. SALT is now facilitating a number of collaborative regional projects that build on existing local assets, such as the Schoharie Creek and the rich cultural heritage that Schoharie County is rooted in, as a strategy for sustainable, community driven economic development.

Job Description

This position is a part-time volunteer position at 10 to 20 hours a week. The intern will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator on general and specific project needs. SALT is looking for an intern to provide assistance on SALT’s social media sites, marketing data analysis in support of our programs and events efforts, and other tasks as interest and need allow.

  • Are you detail-oriented and dedicated to seeing tasks through?

  • Are you a strong communicator?

  • Do you find a certain appeal in reading marketing and ad publications?

Job Duties

  • Maintain and grow a social presence by executing campaigns on various social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

  • Update SALT website as needed.

  • Draft weekly newsletters and press releases as appropriate.

  • Provide marketing assistance on SALT projects; Trail Feasibility Study, Trails to Tales cultural website project, and preparedness program.

  • Design flyers and promotional materials as needed; assist with canvassing.

  • Provide additional administrative, event management and marketing support as needed.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Graphic design experience preferred.

  • Prior experience with internet marketing platforms such as blogs and social media is a plus.

  • Ability to work both independently and on team assignments.

Job Type:

Part-time, 10-20 hrs per week

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship with the option of earning academic credit.
