Fundraising is an easy, fun way to get involved and make a big difference.
Hosting a fundraiser helps spread the word about SALT’s ongoing need and gets your community involved in working toward a greater cause!
Here at SALT, we are so thankful to be part of such a supportive community. We have been the proud beneficiary of a wide range of community fundraisers like the Cabin Fever concert in Gallupville and the Schoharie Teachers Association 5k.
If you’re thinking about hosting your own, the possibilities are endless!
So how can YOU host your very own fundraiser?
Set a fundraising goal and contact SALT! We can help with ideas, materials, information, videos, and lots of success stories.
Plan an event. It can be anything from a bake sale to a themed dinner to whatever your imagination can come up with- be creative! Make sure to think about how many people you’ll need to help plan and run the event.
Get the word out! Family, friends, church community, schools, co-workers… everyone can help! Sell tickets, send out invitations, or create a Facebook group. The more people know, the more people will donate.
Host your event! Have a blast and don’t forget to have people fill out our Donation Form. Take lots of photos and send them along to SALT so we can post them on our website!
Follow up with SALT. Let us know how your event went and send in your donations. We want to hear all about it!
But what should you do for your fundraiser?
The sky is the limit! Some ideas include:
- Pasta dinner
- Movie night
- Bake sale
- Fund-a-thons, such as a dance-a-thon, bowl-a-thon, etc.
- Host a drive for in-kind donations, meaning goods instead of money, and have people drop off things like contractor bags and N95 masks.
- Birthday party or other party where guests bring donations instead of gifts
- Neighborhood/block garage sale
