USDA Rural Development & Financial Programs

USDA Rural Development is a federal agency dedicated to improving the economy and quality of life in rural communities across the nation. Funds are currently available to residents of Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Schenectady, Albany, Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware counties to purchase or repair single family homes.

We have several financial programs that support essential public facilities and services, such as water and sewer systems, housing, health clinics, emergency service facilities and electric and telephone service. We promote economic development by supporting loans to businesses through banks , credit unions and community-managed lending pools. We offer technical assistance and information to help agricultural producers and cooperatives get started and improve the effectiveness of their operations. We also provide technical assistance to help communities undertake community empowerment programs.

For more information on funding opportunities, please contact our Schoharie office at 518-295-8600 ext. 4  or vist the website http://www.rurdev.usda.gov/NYHome.html
