SALT and the residents of the Schoharie Creek Basin and surrounding areas thank you for your generous contribution to our ongoing mission.

Schoharie Area Long Term generates synergy through multi-sector partnerships to advance disaster recovery for families and communities, fostering resilience and sustainability.

With your support, SALT and its partner organizations can continue to assist our community in the journey toward full recovery. After the devastating flooding in August 2011, more than 2,000 homes and businesses were damaged. With the efforts of over 30,000 volunteers and with the donations of individuals and organizations like you, SALT and our partner agency Schoharie Recovery, have been able to assist in the recovery of over 500 properties, ensuring that community members are able to return to safe, sanitary and secure homes and businesses.

None of this would have been possible without you and people like you!

However, the journey is far from over.

Homes like this one are all too common throughout the SALT coverage area.

A recent assessment completed by SALT in February 2013, has found roughly 300 locations with significant on-going needs, ranging from cracked foundations to mold infestation to major rebuilds. For a year and a half, families and business owners have worked toward rebuilding, but challenges and setbacks have prevented them from returning to their homes and daily lives.

How can you help? Donate!

Any size donation can be a step toward getting another family back in their home. It’s the support of caring and generous individuals around the country making this dream a reality. Your commitment and compassion give us the motivation and the resources to continue our important work here in the Schoharie Creek basin, so thank you again for helping to sustain our efforts and joining the SALT community! Together, we can bring the Schoharie area toward healing and recovery.
