Church World Service Recovery Tools and Training Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 8:30am – 4:30pm

A day long workshop to provide tools and training needed for the work of long term recovery and rebuilding

Held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church 1640 Genesee Street Utica, New York 13502

This workshop brings to light the many different components, processes, and partners involved in Long Term Recovery (LTR). We will discuss the long term recovery process, how community needs assessment is accomplished, the function of disaster case management, why emotional and spiritual care is important, construction and volunteer management, and health and safety guidelines.

Disaster recovery for the most vulnerable in a community typically depends upon specialized interagency efforts by community organizations. Prepare yourself and/or your congregation or organization to be a part of the team helping with rebuilding and recovery from this past summer’s Mohawk Valley floods and for future disasters. Learn skills and processes involved in local community long term recovery.

Those involved in long term recovery and rebuilding efforts. Everyone from local emergency managers to local government and non-profit agency program staff to pastors and lay congregation program leaders and local business leaders. The agenda includes:

•Health & Safety Guidelines and Mold Remediation
