SALT is presently seeking to hire four AmeriCorps VISTA team members in the coordination capacities of Preparedness, Fund Development/Marketing, Content Database and Project Management. These dynamic roles are pivotal in the capacity building of Schoharie County assets and will assist tremendously in the economic revitalization of the area. AmeriCorps VISTAs play an integral role in networking and building our region’s resources by connecting people and projects to positive and rewarding outcomes. Past and present VISTAs have brought their passion, conviction, and determination to make a difference to our team.

At present SALT is steadfastly focused on two dynamic projects known at the Schoharie Trail Feasibility Study and the Geo to Go Augmented Reality website project. Both endeavors aim to put Schoharie County on the map! The AmeriCorps VISTAs will directly support these engaging endeavors. Meanwhile, SALT remains true to its mission of resilience and rebuilding by keeping a strong foothold in preparedness. Our commitment to the area and the potential of natural disaster never strays from the mind or imagination. Education, empowerment and enhanced communication systems are paramount to our objectives.

If you or someone you know may be interested in joining this unique team as we look to accentuate area attributes, SALT is an amazing platform for one to exercise people skills, curiosity, flexibility and a commitment to success. All those interested in being a driving force in the community may apply to our VISTA positions by sending your letter of interest and resume to Laura Morace, VISTA Supervisor and Geo to Go Project Director, at lrmorace@gmail.com.  For further information regarding the specific roles and job requirements, please visit the link on SALT’s website by going to http://www.saltdevelopment.org/get-involved/jobs/.
