This is my first time coordinating the AmeriCorps NCCC members and I am looking forward to the experience! Due to unforeseen events, the members will only be in the area for four weeks rather seven weeks, but nevertheless, projects will be carried out. The NCCC members will be working on many local community development projects:
  • Assist in developing a hummingbird and butterfly preserve on a FEMA buyout property in the Village of Middleburgh .
  • Revitalize the West Fulton Arts Group soon to be office space and arts center.
  • Repair sections of the Iroquois Indian Museum Nature Park trail.
  • Support SCCAP on their food pantry program.
These are just a few of the many projects that the NCCC members will be working on which I hope will greatly impact this community. I am excited to be working with all of the community organizations and AmeriCorps members to contribute in the revitalization of our communities.
